Canadian CRA GST/HST relief for Assistive Devices
Sales to business, government, education, organizations are charged GST/HST.
The sale, to individuals, for Zero Rated assistive devices:
Customer's can obtain an HST/GST rebate for the purchase of approved Assistive Devices under the following conditions:
- The customer must supply Special Needs Computer Solutions with a written note by a doctor, physiotherapist, or occupational therapist prior to purchase.
- The note must include the name of the patient, the medical condition for which they require the device and the professional's signature including, Printed Name, Date Signed, registered Provincial Health Number. Securely fax the completed and signed note to 1-877-724-9996.
If you have have a written order for an assistive device available and would like to avoid paying GST/HST at the time of purchase please call Special Needs Computers at (905) 641-4922 and one of our agents will assist you with the process.
Online Store Purchase
If you choose to proceed with an online order you would be charged GST/HST on your purchase but can apply for rebate using CRA's General Application for GST/HST Rebates Form.
